Description
The H1-B employee’s spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old may be granted an H-4 visa. An H-4 visa holder may be able to attend institutions of higher education, in the U.S., and in some circumstance may be able to obtain work authorization.
Basic Requirements Summary
If the spouse and minor children are not in the US then they can obtain H-4 Visas at the US Consulate in their home country. The dependants must show proof of the qualifying relationship (Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate) to obtain the H-4 visa.
Validity Term
The H-4 Visa is valid for the term of the primary H-1B visa holder.
